facebook's down
they blocked twitter, and i couldnt give a shit about that, but facebook’s down too. yesterday’s protests (jan 26), were planned and organized on facebook. the people met in downtown cafes, and then decided meeting places through that. last night was ridiculous. i was out with a friend near talat harb, at a shisha cafe.

yesterday i went to memphis, saqqara, and dashour with a person from my hostel. today i went to the giza pyramids and got to ride on a camel around the 6 of them. anway i’m really tired and i’ll try and put in more details later.

what should i do today?
well at my last hostel, dina’s hostel, there was all this drama and fun everywhere. there were different groups that didnt hang out with other groups and like, just gossip so much to talk about. the guys who worked there were all really sweet and fun, especially this one bearded guy weesem, or something like that. basically no’one in my group ever booked any nights, we’d just ask...
egyptian boys are crazy. just crazy in every sense of the word. besides all the marriage proposals and the staring, they’re weird in every other way as well.

there are protests everywhere on the streets. its just big crowds of people shouting things with signs, that usually have symbols of christian and muslim peace on them. the police barracades them into an area with their bodies, they’re must be hundreds of them. down the street there are trucks each full of more soldiers, all armed with ak47s.
i’ve met the sweetest people here. i get lost every day, and my hostel is really far from my school. but every time i ask for directions people will just get up and walk me where i need to go. some of them hold my hand when i cross the street because its that crazy. today i met a girl who teaches arabic at the auc, and her and i walked around for a while. she bought me some things on the...
